Michigan State basketball will have to fight off a few Big Ten schools, and Notre Dame, for four-star forward Trent Sisley.
Tom Izzo and the Michigan State basketball staff have been after a lot of talented recruits throughout the season. They have handed out some big offers to some great players and have traveled to visit and recruit some guys in person as well.
One of the recruits Michigan State is after just updated his recruitment on Wednesday and he mentioned the Spartans as one of the programs recruiting him the hardest right now.
Meet four-star forward Trent Sisley
Trent Sisley is a four-star forward from Lincoln City, Ind. He has great size for his position already at 6-foot-7 and 205 pounds and 247Sports ranks Sisley as the No. 62 player in the 2025 class and No. 13 player at his position. He is also the No. 5 player in the state of Indiana as well which is very good considering how many great prospects come from that state.
Sisley is the perfect prospect for a Tom Izzo coached team. He is an elite scorer at all three levels and is a plus defender as well. Sisley also is a solid rebounder as well which is a staple of the Michigan State basketball program.
Recruiting update
Sisley hasn’t released his top schools, but he did release which schools are recruiting him the hardest. According to Sisley, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin are the schools after him the hardest right now.
Being a kid from Indiana, it will be very difficult to get him to leave the state. Especially considering he has an official visit set to Purdue when they host Indiana in February. If I had to guess, it’s probably likely that those two schools are his top choices right now.
But I wouldn’t count Izzo out either. Sure, a school like Purdue has been better than Michigan State recently, but the Spartans have more success overall. Izzo is also one of the best active coaches in college basketball, so I think he has a shot at winning any recruitment.
The next step for Michigan State is to get Sisley on campus. If it can get him to visit, I will really start to like the Spartans’ chances.
