Anthony Carrie, a four-star running back from Florida, has committed to Michigan State football on Saturday.

Heading into the June, Michigan State football was looking to make big impressions with several big visitors coming to campus. One of the prospects that many experts felt was trending towards the Spartans was running back Anthony Carrie.

The 6-foot-0 back from Tampa Fla., has been very open about how excited he was to be visiting the Spartans. All of the talk after his official visit seems that he was thoroughly impressed with his time in East Lansing. Carrie posted a video on his Instagram during the visit riding around town with Mel Tucker his in Slingshot.

It seems that all the good vibes regarding East Lansing and Carrie have come to fruition when he announced on Saturday night that he has verbally committed to the Spartans.

Landing Anthony is a big get for the Spartans. He is a speedy running back. He is a dual-sport athlete, running track at his high school in Florida. The Spartans have been working towards trying to stabilize the running game and the offense. Coach Tucker and his assistants have really done well at trying to focus on the offensive line and running backs on the recruiting trail.

When the offense is at its best, we are able to set the tone running the ball and thus opening up the passing game. Carrie can help that. He can be a home run threat out of the backfield.

This is a potentially big momentum shift as well. Hopefully getting a couple of commits will cause further pledges that want to join what is building in East Lansing. With the final weekend in June to impress big-time targets in progress, look for MSU to make some more waves on the recruiting trail.
