Michigan State football has more than doubled its 2024 class under Jonathan Smith. Who has officially signed early?
What an eventful couple of weeks it’s been for Michigan State football. The Spartans have seen their 2024 recruiting class grow from single-digits up to 17 commitments as of Tuesday evening.
Jonathan Smith has worked some magic in the few weeks since he’s been hired, turning the Spartans’ 2024 class around. In fact, it was ranked in the 90-100 range when he took over, and all he’s done has been vault it into the top 50. Michigan State’s 2024 class was looking like a lost cause until Smith took over and he’s worked in silence to build it from the ground up.
And the day before Early Signing Day, he added four more commitments in the form of Rakeem Johnson, Rustin Young, Kekai Burnett, and Payton Stewart. The Spartans were able to land four guys to the trenches, including the highest-ranked commit in the Smith era (Young). The momentum is on the Spartans’ side and that doesn’t look like it’s going to change any time soon.
On top of the high school commitments, Michigan State has also landed four transfers, led by No. 1 quarterback Aidan Chiles and Jack Velling.
With Early Signing Day officially here, let’s take a look at which pledges have made it official, signing their Letter of Intent. We’ll track them as they come in throughout the day on Wednesday.
Who has officially sent in their LOI (Letter of Intent)?
Here are the official updates from the Michigan State signees in the class of 2024.
Looks like a heck of a first class for Jonathan Smith.
