A couple of former Michigan State football players reacted to the news that Jaden Mangham is reportedly interested in Michigan.

The recent news regarding Jaden Mangham’s interest in Michigan has Michigan State football fans in an uproar.

Apparently, it’s not just the fans that are upset by this.

In fact, a couple of former players chimed in on the news on Wednesday, essentially saying that Mangham can go to Michigan if he’s really not that locked into Michigan State or hating the in-state rival.

Tony Lippett is relatively outspoken on social media and he didn’t take too kindly to the news, saying that Mangham can go. He also answered some replies from fans who asked what he would do in the NIL era and said it would take a ridiculous amount of money to pry him away from his friends at Michigan State — and even then he would never choose Michigan.

Fellow former Michigan State receiver Felton Davis III also reacted to the news, quoting Lippett’s tweet.

Clearly these two former players wouldn’t let that fly if they were still on the team and during their era, a transfer to Michigan wouldn’t have even been considered in the slightest.

Look, I get it, the NIL era is different and some players have long-lasting connections with some coaches even at rival schools, but when the tunnel incident happened and Michigan wanted a handful of his teammates thrown in jail and kicked off the team, he should have sworn off any idea of even looking at them respectfully anymore. But that’s not the case and there may be relationships in Ann Arbor as well as an NIL bag waiting for him.

Let’s hope he chooses Ohio State or Nebraska so he doesn’t become public enemy No. 1 next season. Although even considering Michigan makes him just that — for now.
