Miles Bridges hints at potential NBA return

After being out of the league for a year, former Michigan State star Miles Bridges hints at a return to the NBA soon.

Miles Bridges social media posts suggest he may be returning to the NBA sooner than later.

Michigan State fans have, and will likely continue to have a complicated relationship with the former Spartans. While he was in East Lansing, Bridges was one of the most exciting players to watch for the Spartans. Bridges continued to show improvement in his game at the NBA level year after year.

Everything changed in June 2022 when Bridges was arrested on felony assault charges filed by his wife. At the time the charges were filed, Bridges wife said she sustained the following injuries “a fractured nose, wrist, torn eardrum, torn muscles in my neck from being choked until I went to sleep [with] a severe concussion.”

After pleading no contest in court in November 2022, Bridges was sentenced to three years probation. Due to the ongoing nature of the case, Bridges missed the entire 2022-2023 NBA season.

In April 2023, the NBA issued a 30-game suspension for Bridges, but considered 20 games served already. Bridges is an NBA free agent. This means that if he signs with the new team, he would only miss 10 games to start the next season.

The suspension from the NBA surprisingly received little pushback and minimal conversation from national media outlets. Many Spartan fans have vowed to no longer support Bridges due to the nature of his case.

It remains to be seen if and when Bridges returns to the NBA. However, it’s likely that his name will begin circulating more as the NBA off-season is underway. These conversations will likely continues to churn out mixed emotions from Spartan fans.
