One of the top Michigan State football targets in the 2024 class has picked his top five as well as a commitment date.
Mel Tucker and Co. got more good news on Tuesday as one of their top 2024 Michigan State football targets revealed his top five schools.
Four-star defensive back Justin Denson announced on Tuesday via Twitter that he has narrowed his list to five schools and will make his commitment on July 1.
His top five is as followed: Michigan State, Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas AM.
Tucker and Harlon Barnett have heavily recruited the Providence, R.I., product for some time now. He has been up to East Lansing visiting twice before and is set to make an official visit this upcoming weekend. The feeling of late that he was trending towards the Gators or Sooners. Landing the last official visit before his commitment date could be huge for the Spartans to make a last-minute impression.
Denson has raved about his time in East Lansing each time he’s been there. Hopefully the staff pulls out all the stops this weekend as there are several high-profile targets taking visits.
The three-star defensive back is coming off official visits with Florida, Alabama, and Oklahoma. He ranks as the No. 1 player from Rhode Island in the 2024 class. He has the size that Tucker is looking for at the cornerback position, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing in at 180 pounds.
Denson possesses some good speed, running a 4.5 40-yard dash. He would be a big boost to the secondary that Tucker is trying to transform.
