Former Lakers teammate says Max Christie is “gonna be a problem”

Former Lakers teammate Dennis Schroder says that Max Christie is going to be a problem and have a long NBA career.

In the middle of the summer, there’s very little to talk about when it comes to the sports world, but NBA Summer League has taken center stage with MLB heading into the All-Star break.

And one of the biggest stars of this year’s Summer League has been Max Christie.

The Spartan has been putting up some numbers for the Lakers over the past week, or so, and it feels like he’s earning a larger role on the roster for next season. You can’t put too much stock in the Summer League, but everyone has been singing his praises.

That includes former teammate Dennis Schroder.

Schroder, who is now with the Raptors, was Christie’s teammate with the Lakers during his rookie season and posted about the budding star on his Instagram story. He shared Christie’s monster dunk against the Warriors and said that Max is “gonna be a problem” and that he’s going to have a “long a** career in this league.”

Schroder, who has had a long 10-year NBA career himself, knows what it takes to succeed in this league. So for him to claim that Christie is going to be a problem and that he’s going to have a long NBA career carries plenty of weight. He was only with him for a year and Max played sparingly with the Lakers as a rookie, but Schroder liked what he saw.

Christie has been growing before our eyes in the Summer League so far, putting up some big-time performances. He’s playing with confidence and has been the best player on the floor for Los Angeles throughout Summer League play.

I think Schroder may be on to something here. Max might just be a problem.
