Shield your eyes, Detroit Lions fans, Jayden Reed has been drafted in the second round by the Green Bay Packers.

With the 50th overall pick in the second round, Jayden Reed was selected by the Green Bay Packers.

Reed is coming off of a great Senior Bowl showing and that really helped him jump into the second round. He is coming off a year where while he was injured, still contributed to the offense. This is a great spot for Reed as he will be able to find a lot of playing time as the Packers are looking to get younger and add more weapons for Jordan Love.

The former Spartan star will also be able to contribute to the special teams and bring a punt and kick returner that the NFC North will have to take seriously. Out of any teams that Jayden could have gone to, this is a great position as he joins a team that is lacking at wide receiver.

He will be joining the Packers’ draft class of Lukas Van Ness and Luke Musgrave.

What are the Packers getting with these three players? The Packers are getting three impactful players both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Having a tight end like Luke Musgrave, who is athletic and can break tackles, will help Jayden Reed as well. It will allow him to get a lot of 1-on-1 opportunities, where at Michigan State, he took advantage of these opportunities like against Michigan and Wisconsin.

If Reed can get these opportunities, this would be a really good pick because while he is a little shorter than other wide receivers going in the draft so far, he has the ability to get up and make the catch.

This is a good situation for him and while it is earlier than projected, the Packers could be getting a really good player if he is given the opportunity to just make plays.
