Michigan State basketball is one of the programs making five-star 2025 shooting guard Darius Adams a priority.
The 2025 Michigan State basketball recruiting class currently sits at zero commitments but it’s not for a lack of effort.
Tom Izzo is working his tail off to ensure the Spartans have plenty of options when it comes to filling out the class and he’s put Michigan State in a good position with several elite targets.
One of those targets, apparently, is five-star shooting guard Darius Adams from La Lumiere in Indiana.
Adams told ESPN that Tennessee, UConn, Alabama, Notre Dame, NC State, and Michigan State are all making him a priority. He has visits set up to all of those programs this fall which is huge for Izzo and the Spartans. While it’s not going to be easy to beat out Tennessee, UConn, or Alabama, the Spartans could find themselves in a winnable battle because of their ability to land La Lumiere prospects in the past (Jaren Jackson Jr., Jeremy Fears).
On top of that, playing time will be a huge selling point with Jaden Akins moving on after this season, opening up the shooting guard position.
Adams holds an offer from Michigan State along with over a dozen other major programs and he’s ranked the No. 17 prospect in the 2025 class, per the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 4 shooting guard and No. 2 recruit from the state of Indiana. Long story short, he’s really, really good.
Michigan State has several other targets set up for visits this fall from the 2025 class, including Trent Sisley, Jalen Haralson, and Trey McKenney. Getting Adams to campus is important and it could help kickstart the class.
It’s only a matter of time before Izzo lands one of his top targets and maybe that will be Adams this fall. That’d be a heck of a start to 2025.
