Exciting news is finally coming in on the Michigan State basketball 2025 recruiting class front on Thursday. Top-60 prospect Jordan Scott announced on Thursday evening that he will be taking his talents to East Lansing next fall. Scott chose MSU over Virginia Tech and Maryland.
As I said, Scott ranks as the 52nd-ranked prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is listed as a four-star prospect. Jordan plays primarily the small forward position. He stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 185 pounds as well.
Scott received 19 total offers during his recruitment. His size is what stands out the most for him. He is very athletic and excels both on offense and defense. Overall I think he fits in well with the Spartans and what Tom Izzo wants to do. However, it won’t be immediately. He needs to develop a bit more physicality to really withstand the rigors of Big Ten basketball.
The four-star small forward is also a really good shooter overall. He can knock shots down from deep and has a pretty good release overall. His ability to score will be the part of his game that I’d imagine would translate to the college level first.
Scott becomes the first commitment coach Izzo has received for the 2025 class so far but he definitely won’t be the last. The Spartans have been trending with a lot of big name prospects of late. While we certainly won’t land them all, Izzo and staff feel really good about where they sit overall. Once signing day rolls around, I expect to see another great recruiting class for the Spartans and Scott will be a big part of that.
Congratulations to Scott on his commitment and welcome to East Lansing. We are pumped to have you in the green and white. Keep it here with Spartan Shadows for all your recruiting updates.
