Michigan State football will be getting an important visit from four-star running back Jason Brown on Sept. 16.

Well, if you needed another reason to circle Michigan State football‘s Week 3 matchup against Washington on your calendar, you just got it. Jason Killop of On3 reported late Wednesday night that one of the Spartans’ top targets for 2024 will be visiting the weekend of Sept. 16.

Jason Brown, a four-star running back out of the state of Washington, will be in East Lansing presumably to view the matchup between two of his top schools.

With Oregon also on the sixth-ranked running back’s radar, it’s a huge opportunity for Brown to visit the Spartans during a weekend with a marquee matchup. Per 247Sports, Michigan State has three crystal balls for Brown. The fourth, a Washington pick from 2021, is a bit outdated as the most recent one came in for the Spartans from a Huskies insider.

Landing Brown would solidify the backfield for the future as he would be teaming up with 2024 commit Anthony Carrie. Running backs coach Effrem Reed and Mel Tucker should have an opportunity to showcase a strong running back room with at least three contributors against Washington. Seeing Nathan Carter, Jalen Berger, and Jaren Mangham put up numbers against the Huskies would make a massive impression on the Washington native.

It’s not like Tucker is a stranger to featuring elite running backs. Kenneth Walker III won the Doak Walker Award just two seasons ago and that has helped his recruiting at the position. Brown has surely taken notice of Tucker’s solid track record.

Let’s hope gameday against the Huskies makes a good impression on Brown, who according to reports, is getting closer to a final decision. A win for Michigan State football would go a long way both on the field and in recruiting.
