Don’t worry about all the recent transfer portal departures, Michigan State football fans, help is on the way.

Some of the help is in the form of three-star Ohio-based receiver Braylon Collier from Sandusky. The recent Michigan State signee led his high school to the state championship game on Saturday evening and, boy, he put on a show.

The incoming freshman played his last game with Perkins High and he nearly willed his team to a state title on Saturday, but his team came up just one point short, 37-36. But it wasn’t for a lack of effort on his part. The game was actually a classic and he was a big reason Perkins was alive with a chance to win but an illegal man downfield penalty wiped out his fourth touchdown catch of the game.

And Perkins lost a heartbreaker but not before he put up some video game numbers.

Collier put up an incredible 207 yards and three touchdowns on eight receptions. He led Perkins to the championship and nearly secured a state title to finish his high school career. He looked like one of the best receivers in the country and that should have Michigan State fans breathing a sigh of relief.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Michigan State has lost a handful of receivers over the past few days as Aziah Johnson, Jaelen Smith, and Antonio Gates Jr. all hit the transfer portal. That means that Nick Marsh is the only returning wideout with solid production under his belt.

With Collier coming in, that should ease some of the pain of losing the trio of young wide receivers, and this performance in the state title game should go to show that he’s going to be pretty good in East Lansing.

Jonathan Smith will undoubtedly hit the portal for transfer receiver help, but Collier is going to be a strong option in 2025.
