According to new Michigan State football offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren, it’s time to buy Brennan Parachek stock.

As a recruit in the 2023 class, Brennan Parachek drew plenty of interest from top programs around the country. The four-star tight end ultimately decided to stay home and commit to Michigan State football, but when Mel Tucker was fired, there was a thought that he and the rest of the blue-chip guys from his class and previous classes would transfer.

Fortunately, Parachek opted to give the new staff a chance and it looks like that decision is paying off.

New offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren had some rave reviews for the backup tight end on Thursday when talking to the media, saying that they’re flexing him out wide to utilize his size (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) and mobility. He has prototypical NFL tight end size.

Lindgren also said that Parachek “has a chance to be an NFL guy” after talking about the fact that the staff has been around a lot of really good tight ends. That’s some high praise for the sophomore tight end from Dexter, Mich., because this staff has produced some studs.

Teagan Quitoriano was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft as Oregon State’s only draftee. What position did he play? Tight end. And last year, the Beavers sent Luke Musgrave to the 2023 NFL Draft as the No. 42 overall selection by the Packers. The star tight end learned under this offensive staff led by Lindgren and tight ends coach Brian Wozniak.

The resume checks out.

So when Lindgren says that Parachek can be an NFL guy, he knows what he’s talking about. The fact that he believes they’re just scratching the surface with the talented sophomore means that they have big plans for him. While Jack Velling (one of the top tight ends in the country) is the starter at tight end, it looks like they’ll be utilizing a lot of two-tight end sets and split-out-wide sets for Parachek.

It’s time to buy stock in the sophomore from Dexter because I have a feeling he’s about to be a not-so-secret offensive weapon come September.
