Dylan Williams is making an announcement on Friday and the Chopalytics Prediction Machine updates the Michigan State football odds.
It’s an understatement to say that Michigan State football has gotten red-hot over the last couple of weeks and, according to insiders, things will only get hotter as the week goes on.
Four-star wide receiver and priority target Nick Marsh has been trending toward recommitting to the good guys on July 7. We’ve also seen some cryptic tweets out of another priority recruit, four-star linebacker Dylan Williams, who simply tweeted ‘7/7.’ the other day.
People are saying that ChopMan is the No. 1 reader of cryptic tweets on the entire app. So let’s use our elite Chopalytics Prediction Machine to see where Williams is going.
At 8:13 p.m. ET on the 4th of July, Dylan Williams tweeted:
Many fans, including myself, are taking this as a hint that Williams will be committing on Friday (the same day as Nick Marsh). This was also confirmed by Rivals while I was writing this post. Commitment will happen at 1:30 p.m. PST.
Like the master cryptic tweet reader and eyeball emoji decipherer that I am, I also noticed Spartan Tailgate insider Justin Thind responded in a Twitter thread to an MSU fan who asked directly about Williams, saying; ‘ask me in 18 hours!’
Per my expert opinion, which is certainly always right, Williams will be committing on Friday, July 7, and the race is far from over. The question is: who will he commit to?
Williams was a part of the official visit group that got together the final weekend in June where three of the visitors have already committed and a fourth is to be added on Friday. He was committed to USC at one point during this cycle and also holds the Oregon Ducks very high on his list. Williams received what is usually ‘the kiss of death’ a couple of weeks ago, getting ‘Fong-bombed’ to Oregon. For those who don’t know, Steve Wiltfong is the Director of Football Recruiting for 247Sports, and his ‘crystal balls’ typically hold a ton of weight. He is right 91.47 percent of the time.
Here’s what the Chopalytics Prediction Machine (CPM) says:
Based on cryptic tweets being sent around, the CPM has this as a two-horse race between Michigan State and Oregon. The Ducks have the Fong-bomb on their side but MSU is in a good position from a depth perception as they have zero linebacker commits currently in the 2024 cycle. Also, Justin Thind and Corey Robinson placed crystal balls for the good guys to land him on Thursday.
The CPM says: 73 percent Michigan State, 27 percent Oregon. We will see how things shake out on Friday.
