Michigan State football is getting a pair of valuable receivers back after one entered the portal and the other thought about moving on.
Good news continues to come to the Michigan State football program. Senior Montorie Foster will be returning to the team in 2024 along with freshman budding star Jaron Glover.
After an official visit to Georgia, Glover announced on Thursday that he will return to Michigan State, a big get for Jonathan Smith and the coaching staff. Foster announced that he, too, would be back after contemplating next steps. Glover and Foster’s return to the team instantly helps the wide receiver room continue to grow under Courtney Hawkins. Both Montorie and Jaron will get another year with Hawkins and fans have already seen what a year under him has done.
This past year, we saw Foster take a step forward, especially toward the end of the year. He was the most consistent wide receiver when he was healthy. Not only was he one of the most consistent, but he will also be the veteran leader of the wide receiver room. He will be replacing Tre Mosley in that category of a still pretty young wide receiver room.
Glover is another big get for Michigan State. When you have a receiver who is visiting Georgia and you have him return to your team, that’s big for your program. This past year, Glover made some of the team’s most explosive plays at the receiver position. Under Hawkins, he will continue to grow and make more plays.
Getting these two back was important and most likely will mean the wide receiver room is almost full. If Foster can be that reliable receiver and Glover can take another step forward, this could be a wide receiver room that performs much better than it did last year especially when they are under a new offensive coordinator who is hopefully better at scheming than the past offensive coordinator.
