Michigan State football may be the favorite to land recent South Carolina offensive line de-commit Mike Williams.
Michigan State Football target Mike Williams has announced on Twitter that he has decommitted from South Carolina. The three-star offensive tackle is a priority target in the 2024 class for the Spartans.
Spartan Tailgate soon after also announced on Twitter that Williams has scheduled an official visit to Michigan State. This visit will begin June 16 and is a huge step in his recruitment.
Saying he is a massive recruit is an understatement as he is listed at 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds. Offensive line coach Chris Kapolivic has always prioritized large offensive linemen, and Williams is no different. He is only the No. 94 offensive tackle in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports Composite, but his offer sheet is very impressive. He also holds offers from major programs including Tennessee, USC, Florida, Miami, and Maryland.
Michigan State’s coaching staff has never stopped recruiting Williams since he committed to South Carolina. It appears those efforts are now paying off with Williams announcing an official visit to Michigan State minutes after decommitting from South Carolina. This shows he is extremely interested in the program which is a great sign for Michigan State. And 247Sports also has Michigan State as the only school listed as “warm” on Williams’ profile. This is yet another sign that Michigan State is in a good spot in his recruitment.
Including Williams, a total of four recruits are scheduled to visit East Lansing on June 16. He is joining Decker DeGraaf, who is another recruit Michigan State might be trending for. You can read more about Decker’s recruitment here.
