Another day, another top-tier running back scheduling a Michigan State football official visit. This time, it’s Anthony Carrie.

As you’ve seen quite a bit recently, official visit season is off and “running” for Michigan State football. Small pun intended. The month of June is shaping up to be a busy one for Mel Tucker and Co. and Tuesday morning brings some good news.

Priority running back target Anthony “Scoota” Carrie announced he has locked in an official visit with the Spartans for the weekend of June 23. This marks the second time he has visited East Lansing. He was up here last June in an unofficial visit.

Carrie had placed the Spartans in his top six back in March. So far he has locked in three official visits. He is visiting Notre Dame on June 9 and North Carolina on June 16. The other three schools in his top six that are vying for an official visit are Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Oklahoma. It should be noted that Carrie does have four crystal balls placed by 247Sports recruiting experts for South Carolina.

The four-star is 6-foot-0 and lists on 247Sports at 185 pounds. He has posted images on social media that he’s up to almost 200 pounds now. He is a multi-sport athlete and runs track at Carrollwood Day High School in Tampa, Fla. Last season, he averaged just over 100 yards rushing per game and scored 16 touchdowns.

Carrie has often spoken highly of the Spartans. He told On3’s Jason Killop back in April that the Spartans have “been the most consistent in recruiting me.”

Hopefully Tucker and staff can keep bringing their official visit wow factor and potentially sway some more of the recruiting momentum our way.

In total, the Spartans now have four running backs on the official visit schedule for June. They have made it clear that establishing the run game is a priority for them and any of the four could go along way in that. Each of them offers their own unique contribution and could really help our offense. All four running backs are ranked as four-star recruits. Along with Carrie is Jason Brown from Seattle, Caden Durham from Texas, and current Florida commit Kahnen Daniels.
