Michigan State football commit Justin Denson had a great take on recruiting rankings, saying that he knows his worth.

It’s been a couple of days since Michigan State football landed three-star defensive back Justin Denson over Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas A&M, and Florida and he’s already fitting the ‘Spartan Dawg’ mold.

Like many Spartans in the past, he’s been overlooked on the recruiting trail. But he’s not bothered by it.

Actually, he has the perfect mindset when it comes to his recruiting ranking:

Denson is ranked the No. 613 overall recruit in the 2024 class and while he has jumped drastically over the past couple of months, he knows that he deserves to be higher. The “I saw who y’all had above me” line shows that he’s a heck of a competitor. He knows he’s better than other guys in the class higher up in the rankings.

And his first ranking was handed out on June 1 when 247Sports updated their 2024 class. There’s a good chance he’ll rise even more when the next rankings come out, especially after being selected to play in the All-American Bowl.

An All-American defensive back ranked in the 600s? Yeah, something isn’t adding up. Michigan State got in early on Denson who has an incredible offer list and it looks like the Spartans found themselves a gem. He’s a true diamond in the rough. And he knows that, too.

To say Michigan State fans are going to love Denson is an understatement. He’s a tough, gritty player with the perfect attitude. Denson plays like an All-American (and was named one) and yet he’s rated as a three-star.

Michigan State is building a really solid secondary class with Denson in the fold. He’s joined by Reggie Powers, Camren Campbell, and Jaylen Thompson. This group could bring back the ‘No Fly Zone.’

Oh yeah, and the original MSU ‘No Fly Zone’ was overlooked on the recruiting trail.
