Michigan State football is getting an official visit from four-star receiver Nick Marsh in June. The Spartans will have the final say.

News has just been reported that four-star top-100 wide receiver Nick Marsh will be taking an official visit to Michigan State football beginning on June 23.

Not only will he be visiting MSU again, this will be his last visit he makes before his scheduled commitment date of July 7. Getting the last visit for any recruit is massive as it greatly increases your chances of landing a recruit. MSU will be the last campus Marsh sees and our staff will be the last coaches he speaks with in person before his commitment date, as of right now.

Marsh previously committed to Michigan State in July of 2022 before de-committing from the program this March. Usually this is an indicator that the recruit is no longer interested in the school anymore and will be taking their talents elsewhere, but that may not be the case here.

Michigan State football has stayed in constant communication with Marsh since his de-commitment and has even publicly said himself that the Spartans are still in the running. This latest news validates that and shows that MSU may still be at the top of his list.

Marsh is currently ranked as the No. 87 overall recruit in the 2024 class as well as the 14th-best wide receiver according to 247Sports. He is also a local kid from River Rogue, Mich., and is ranked as the third-best player in the state of Michigan as well. He has been on countless visits to MSU throughout his recruitment and likely has been to campus for many games growing up as well, but this last visit in June will be the most important yet as Mel Tucker and Courtney Hawkins try to persuade him into rejoining the Spartans class.

Since de-committing from Michigan State, Marsh has taken unofficial visits to Auburn, Tennessee, and Penn State. The Nittany Lions also have an official visit scheduled with Marsh for June 2 and Auburn will officially host Nick on June 16. Based on the official visits alone, MSU appears to be in a three-team race with Penn State and Auburn to gain the talented wide outs commitment.

Landing Nick Marsh would be massive for the program as he is someone who would come in and compete for playing time day one. He already has a college ready frame listed at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds and his frame allows him to play very physically and to come down with a majority of the contested passes that get thrown his way.

Can MSU regain the commitment of Marsh? I still don’t know. But up until today’s news I thought our chances were pretty low, but getting the last crack at him will allow Tucker and Hawkins to work their magic once again and hopefully get him back in green and white.
