Michigan State football has officially locked in its first official visitor from the 2025 recruiting class.
Some good news is surfacing today in the world of Michigan State football recruiting. Jonathan Smith and staff have officially locked in their first official visitor for this summer from the class of 2025. Spartan Tailgate confirmed the news on Friday that offensive line prospect Houston Kaahaaina-Torres will be visiting East Lansing over the weekend of June 7.
Houston is a three-star interior offensive line prospect hailing from St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii — the same school that class of 2024 MSU commit Rustin Young attended. He ranks as the No. 556 player nationally on the 247Sports Composite and has picked up 18 total offers so far.
Some of the schools to offer him already include Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Oregon State, Nebraska, and Colorado. He does have an official visit locked in with Arizona State starting April 19. The Spartans are officially his second visit scheduled. After MSU he will visit Utah on June 14 and Nebraska on June 21.
Houston has the versatility to play anywhere along the offensive line and some scouts are projecting that ability to carry over into college. He comes in standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 265 pounds currently. He earned all-state honors this season as a junior and has already earned himself an invite to the 2025 Under Armour All-American Game.
Smith and his staff are continuing to prioritize building up the trenches early and often in their recruitment strategy. With Jim Michalczik leading the way, Houston could be a very important piece to the future of the Spartans offensive line. As we saw last year, having depth at that position is crucial. The Spartans’ lack of depth last season caused multiple issues. Having players who can play multiple positions and be reliable can go a long way in competing in the Big Ten.
Hopefully more prospects will be locking in visits soon. We will update you with all the latest recruiting news as it unfolds. It should be a fun spring.
