Michigan State football has secured its third 2025 class commitment in as many days in three-star running back Jace Clarizio.

Another one. For a third consecutive day, Michigan State football has secured a 2025 class commitment.

On Sunday, it was three-star linebacker Di’Mari Malone from Macomb who committed and on Monday it was three-star tight end Emmett Bork from Wisconsin. Now, on Tuesday, the Spartans have landed three-star in-state running back Jace Clarizio.

With this commitment, the Spartans now have two of the top 10 in-state prospects committed in their 2025 class, including the No. 1 running back and No. 1 linebacker in Michigan. They’re also projected to land at least a couple more top in-state kids. Jonathan Smith has clearly placed an emphasis on keeping some of the top in-state talent home. If he can have success with these Michigan-heavy classes early on, we could see a Mark Dantonio-level of success on the trail in the state.

Michigan State’s 2025 class is now up to five commitments with Leo Hannan, Malone, Charles White, Bock, and now Clarizio. The Spartans have their quarterback, running back, tight end, and two top linebackers already and Smith can focus on adding to that solid foundation during official visits.

The Spartans’ 2025 class was at zero commitments a month ago and now it’s at five and ranked near the top 50.

Clarizio is a talented back from East Lansing who held offers from the likes of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pitt, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisville, and USC. He was being pursued by some big schools but decided to remain close to home and buy in to Smith and Co. He is ranked the No. 64 running back and 10th-best in-state prospect on 247Sports. Maybe this will set off a domino effect.

One thing is for certain, however: Smith is getting his guys and he’s cooking on the trail right now.
