Michigan State football is trending with a couple of priority 2025 targets after another official visit weekend.
Another official visit weekend is in the books and Michigan State football looks to be on the verge of growing its 2025 class.
The Spartans hosted another handful of targets and Jonathan Smith has gotten to work. He had extra help this past weekend with a few commits on campus along with some priority targets. Having current commits do some recruiting of their own takes a lot of pressure off the coaching staff and we may soon see that paying off.
In fact, On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) projected the Spartans to land a couple of priority targets in the 2025 class over the past couple of days. The six-commit class could soon grow to 7-8 if these predictions come to fruition.
The first prediction was for Jayden Savoury, a three-star tight end from Michigan, to commit to the Spartans. Kenny Jordan made the prediction and was immediately followed by Steve Wiltfong. The Spartans have to feel good about where they stand with Savoury who’s ranked the No. 850 prospect in the 2025 class and the nation’s 50th-best tight end.
The second prediction in favor of the Spartans was for three-star California-based lineman Drew Nichols. The nation’s No. 94 interior offensive lineman was also high on SMU before the weekend, but Michigan State looks to have pulled ahead here.
If Michigan State football is able to reel in Savoury, that would give it a solid two-tight end class with him and Emmett Bock. Those guys have been drawn to East Lansing by Brian Wozniak who happens to be one of the best tight end coaches in the Big Ten. Expect to see more top tight ends give the Spartans a serious look as long as Wozniak is in town. And the addition of Nichols would kickstart the offensive line class for Jim Michalczik.
Expect some good news soon.
