Michigan State football coach Jonathan Smith has offered one of the best tight ends in the 2025 class, Linkon Cure.
This is a big one, folks. Michigan State football just offered one of the best players and tight ends in the country in the 2025 class. Jonathan Smith has been working hard on the recruiting trail since coming to East Lansing and he is now trying his luck with one of the best players in the country.
Four-star tight end Linkon Cure
Linkon Cure is a four-star tight end from Goodland, Kan. He stands at 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds showing he already has the size to play at the college level. As I mentioned, Linkon is one of the best players in the 2025 class. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he is the No. 40 overall player in the class and No. 2 tight end. The last five-star player in this class right now sits at No. 24 overall, so he is very close to earning that coveted fifth star.
As you can imagine, Linkon’s offer list is already starting to fill up. Cure also holds offers from Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Texas A&M, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame, just to name a few. Based on those offers alone, this will be a difficult recruitment to win.
I have faith right now that Smith can win any recruit he offers. He’s shown that at Oregon State and has already proven that at Michigan State, too. Time and time again, he’s proven that you can’t count him out, and I certainly won’t in this recruitment either.
Two-sport star
Linkon is also an elite track and field athlete as well. As a 10th grader, he won a state championship in the 300-meter hurdles. He also placed second in the 110-meter hurdles and eighth in the high jump.
I don’t know about you, but those characteristics make me want Linkon in East Lansing even more. An athletic, extremely fast tight end who can out-jump anyone? Sign me up for that.
There is no timeline for a final decision from Linkon yet. The next step likely is scheduling official visits for the summer, so that will be MSU’s next step in this recruitment.
