Michigan State football has locked in a number of impressive official visits already and this one might be near the top.
Top 100 recruit in the 2024 class DeAndre Carter has announced he has scheduled a visit to Michigan State football in June.
Carter is one of the premier recruits visiting Michigan State in the month of June. He is the No. 80 overall recruit in his class and the No. 3 interior offensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite. However, 247Sports ranks him as the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the class.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 340 pounds, DeAndrew is showing once again the type of athlete offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic wants to recruit. As mentioned, he projects to play in the interior of the offensive line even though he plays left tackle in high school. He is from Santa Ana, Calif., which is obviously quite far from East Lansing. However, there is no denying his interest in the Spartans’ program.
Carter already visited Michigan State on March 18 and will make a return trip June 23-25. Making another trip back to East Lansing this soon shows he has legit interest in the program.
This weekend looks to be the biggest June recruiting weekend for the Michigan State staff. Carter is the eighth player scheduled to visit this weekend and the third recruit ranked in the top 100. Running back Jason Brown and wide receiver Nick Marsh are the other top 100 recruits also visiting that weekend.
Michigan State has struggled on the recruiting trail recently. However, these scheduled visits are a step in the right direction and Carter would be an elite addition to the class.
