Former Michigan State star Draymond Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA for his latest altercation with Jusuf Nurkic.

After getting in another incident on the basketball court on Tuesday night, the NBA announced that former Michigan State star Draymond Green would be suspended indefinitely. This suspension comes after swinging and hitting Jusuf Nurkic in the head. After the play was reviewed, he received a flagrant 2 and was ejected from the game.

What does this mean for Draymond and Golden State and what kind of impact could this decision cause?

This decision by the NBA sends a message to Draymond that the things he has done in the past including last night are not acceptable. The NBA has suspended Draymond before but not to this extent. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, before Draymond can even return, he is going to have to meet different conditions from both the league and his own team. While these conditions were not laid out yet, there was discussion about counseling and not having an exact amount of games for this suspension.

This suspension is the right move by the NBA and will probably hurt Draymond’s career, especially coming off signing a pretty big contract. This suspension does not only hurt Draymond, it hurts the Warriors.

Draymond is a key player for Golden State. When people think of the Warriors, they think of either Steph Curry or Klay Thompson but Draymond helps lead both the offense and defense. Because of his vision on offense and his great defense, Draymond has helped the Warriors be great on both ends of the court. Without Draymond, there’s a conversation going on that the Warriors might not be a playoff team. If the playoffs started today, the Warriors would be in but can they keep that up without Draymond? That is the key question

This suspension by the NBA was the right decision and one that most people agree with. What Draymond did last night was not a basketball play and it caused a response by the NBA.

I don’t know if Draymond Green will ever change but if he wants to get back on the court, he is going to have to take this suspension seriously. And if he does, he may be able to get back on the court just in time for another playoff run.
