What PFF Grades Say About Michigan State Football Offense Vs Nebraska

Michigan State football got to return home on Saturday, hosting Nebraska to kick off Big Ten play. It was not an easy return home for the Spartans, with over a dozen injuries and a multitude of penalties turn this game into a struggle.

The shorthanded Spartans lost 31-13, with the offense struggling and having three turnovers.

Here is how PFF graded the top and bottom five for the Spartan offense.

Top Five Grades on Michigan State Football Offense, Week Four

• C Trent Fraley: 80.1
• TE Brennan Parachek: 72.8
• TE Kai Rios: 72.0
• WR Chrishon McCray: 70.3
• RB Jaziun Patterson: 69.9

Fraley was the rock in the storm for the Spartans as players all around him went down injured. The center stood tall and paved the way for Jaziun Patterson to have a strong game.

Parachek had his most efficient game as a Spartan this year, with 3 catches for 40 yards coming up huge and helping stabilize the offense. Rios also excelled in his limited snaps, with a red zone catch to set up the first score for MSU.

McCray finally had a solid game after only having 84 yards receiving heading into the game. The former Kent State product added over 60 yards on the day.

Patterson stepped up admirably for the Spartans, recording nearly 60 yards rushing, with each rush getting stronger as the game went on.

Bottom Five Grades on Michigan State Football Offense, Week Four

• IOL Luka Vincic: 55.2
• TE Jayden Savoury: 55.0
• IOL Rustin Young: 53.6
• QB Alessio Milivojevic: 47.0
• QB Cam Fancher: 26.8

Vincic was called upon after a Conner Moore injury, before the former Oregon State Beaver suffered his own injury, hampering the line entire.

Unfortauntely for Savoury, almost catches do not count, resulting in his lower PFF Grade. Savoury had an awesome helmet catch against a defender, but video review disagreed.

Young saw some action on Saturday, but was whistled for a hold on his first left guard snap of the game, tanking his grade.

Milivojevic had some nice throws, but also went and threw an interception and had a lost fumble during the contest. Overall, it was a game with more downs than ups. The Spartans needed better out of their quarterback to win.

Cam Fancher also struggled, with his limited reps resulting in a sack and an interception. He did not see the field after that short two play disaster.
