For the first time in his NFL career, Kenneth Walker III has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

For the first time in his career, Kenneth Walker III has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award after the Seahawks’ 37-27 win over the Carolina Panthers.

For a lot of fans, especially Michigan State fans, this award should not come as a surprise. It was more of not if this was going to happen, it was when this was going to happen and it finally did. After Walker’s rookie year, NFL fans knew that he was going to be a very good running back in the NFL, and this was again proven this past week.

Against the Panthers, Walker ran for 97 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 59 yards receiving out of the backfield.

With this performance, he finally earned the award that you could argue he deserved maybe a few other times. Not only is it impressive to win this award, it is even more impressive in the way that Walker did it. The Seahawks love using at least a two-running back system and they continued that in this game. Walker and Zach Charbonnet both combined for over 130 yards in this game and a majority of those yards were from the former.

This is a great start for the year for Walker and it seems like he just keeps getting better, which is hard to believe.

Watching the Seahawks might just be something all Michigan State fans should do, especially because watching Kenneth Walker play is worth it because there always seems to be one highlight that stands out. This was definitely a well-deserved honor and hopefully the first of many to come for Walker in his career.
