After a quiet recruitment in which Michigan State basketball seemed to be heavily involved in, Bryson Tucker has committed to Indiana.
Michigan State basketball has turned their full attention to recruiting the transfer portal and 2025 high school class now that its season has come to an end. However, there has always been one big fish in the 2024 class that Tom Izzo has still been after.
That recruit is Bryson Tucker, and he just so happens to be one of the top recruits in the country.
According to 247Sports composite rankings, Tucker is the No. 20 player in the country and No. 7 small forward. The Spartans have been in a decent position to land him, but that unfortunately changed this week.
Bryson Tucker commits to Indiana
About a week ago, the Spartans received some positive news in Tucker’s recruitment when the NBA’s G-League Ignite announced it was shutting down. The Ignite was one of Bryson’s top options with Kansas and MSU, so this news seemingly helped the Spartans’ chances. However, a new team appeared to be making a late push.
Over this past weekend Tucker took a visit to Indiana. The Hoosiers seemingly came out of nowhere as I had not seen them involved in his recruitment at all. That visit appeared to go extremely well as Indiana received a crystal ball prediction on 247Sports to commit to the Hoosiers late Wednesday night.
On Thursday, Tucker committed to the Hoosiers.
Time is running out for Michigan State. Tom Izzo is going to have to make a big move in the portal if the Spartans are going to come out on top this offseason. This was another tough loss on the recruiting trail, but hopefully Izzo addresses some needs in the portal.
