Michigan State basketball signed its 2024 class on Wednesday and Tom Izzo hinted at one more addition to the group.

Wednesday was a big day for Michigan State basketball. The Spartans signed their three commits, Jase Richardson, Kur Teng, and Jesse McCulloch, as the group currently ranks No. 7 nationally.

But the class may not be closed just yet.

According to Tom Izzo who spoke about his 2024 class on Wednesday, “there could be one more” commit.

Obviously that’s exactly what fans want to hear after signing a really good class that could maybe use one more piece. And there is one prominent recruit who has been rumored to be a Michigan State lean for some time. His name? Bryson Tucker.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pound small forward from Virginia is one of the top prospects available in the 2024 class and Michigan State is the only “warm” program for him on 247Sports. The Spartans have been long rumored to be the favorites to land Tucker and end the class with a five-star to go along with three four-stars. He would also fill a need at small forward.

Tucker is ranked the No. 19 overall recruit and seventh-best small forward in the 2024 class.

If Michigan State basketball is able to land Tucker, the nation’s seventh-best recruiting class will likely move into that top-five range. A class of Tucker, Richardson, Teng, and McCulloch would rival the 2023 class. Of course, I think the 2023 class would be better, but it would complement this 2024 group. Back-to-back top-five classes would be massive. It would show that Izzo isn’t done yet.

It’s great to see Izzo acknowledge that the class isn’t done yet, especially since Michigan State could be losing Tyson Walker, Mady Sissoko, Malik Hall, Jaden Akins, and AJ Hoggard this offseason.

If he’s not able to land Tucker (I think he will), I could see him turning his attention to the portal, even if he claims he hates it. Heck, he could do both land Tucker and add a portal star.
