Michigan State football has locked in a big visit with four-star defensive end Jeff Exinor Jr. He’d be a huge addition to the 2025 class.
The first official visit weekend for Michigan State football may be the most important in quite some time. The first weekend visits always give a great indication as to which schools are at the top of recruits lists. Typically recruits might choose to visit their top school first, so any recruit coming this first weekend likely has MSU high on their list.
The Spartans just added a huge visitor to this weekend, and it could be someone the Spartans lead for.
Jeff Exinor Jr. is a four-star athlete from Owings Mills, Md. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 211 player in the country and No. 8 athlete as well. Athlete is definitely the best description for him as he plays all over the field for his high school.
According to his 247Sports profile, Jeff predominantly plays on offense in high school. He can play both tight end and wide receiver and could even play both at the next level as well. Jeff however also plays defense from time to time as well on the defensive line. Most schools appear to be recruiting him as a pass catcher, but he does have the ability to play defensive end in college as well.
Is Michigan State the leader?
It’s unclear if Michigan State is the current leader or not, but all signs point towards that being the case. The first thing that tells me MSU is high on his list is that they are one of three schools in the warm category on 247Sports. Syracuse and Penn State are also warm.
But the most telling sign is how quickly he scheduled this official visit. The visit itself will begin on May 31, but Jeff is currently on an unofficial visit right now. Jeff was visiting East Lansing on March 30, and on that visit, he scheduled this summer official. So that tells me that he is extremely excited to come back.
Penn State, Maryland, and Syracuse also have official visits set up for this summer as well. So as it stands today, those three schools and Michigan State appear to be the leaders in Jeff’s recruitment.
Time will tell if Michigan State is the leader or not, but we have to feel great about where they stand right now. We likely won’t hear where MSU stands until after his official visit, but I feel good about this recruitment.
