Four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh, a former Michigan State football commit, has set a decision date. How should we feel?

It’s only been about six weeks since Nick Marsh decided to reopen his recruitment and decommit from Michigan State football, but we’re already talking about his imminent decision again.

The four-star from River Rouge, Mich., seemed like he loved Michigan State when he originally committed last summer. He looked to be all-in, but in early March, he decided he wanted to take some visits before he closed his recruitment for good and he let Mel Tucker know he’d be decommitting.

It was a mature move and it showed that he understood that it was respectful to the Spartans in order to allow him to experience the recruiting process one last time before making his final decision. He also said that Michigan State would remain a top option for him moving forward.

Well, he released a top 12 a couple of weeks ago and now he’s already set a new commitment date.

This seems rather quick considering he just decommitted last month and he’s already got a good idea of what school he’s going to pick.

Should that make Michigan State fans feel good about the Spartans’ chances?

It’s hard to say, but seeing as he’s only taken visits to Auburn and Tennessee and has one other scheduled to Penn State, it just seems like he’s still green. I know it’s rare for a recruit to decommit and then recommit, let alone do so in the span of four months, but I think he just wanted to be respectful to the staff, take his visits, and then come back if nothing blew him away.

Right now, I’d say Penn State, Auburn, and Tennessee are the biggest threats to Michigan State, but I think the relationship he has with the staff in East Lansing will be the difference. That, and his mom loves MSU.

I’d give Michigan State a 60 percent chance as of right now, but a lot can change in the next three months.
