Michigan State football could be on commit watch for one of its top targets in the 2025 class, three-star quarterback Leo Hannan.
The Michigan State football offseason is full steam ahead. Spring practice is well underway and the coaching staff is laying the foundation for the 2025 recruiting class. That recruiting work appears to be coming together as a big domino may be ready to fall in the 2025 class.
Michigan State received three crystal ball predictions to land 2025 quarterback Leo Hannan on 247Sports on March 24. All three predictions came from MSU beat writers, which usually is a good sign that things are going the Spartans’ way. Hannan also received a prediction to commit to MSU on On3 a few weeks ago, so that’s four predictions total now in favor of the Spartans.
One thing to note is that there is still no public date set for a commitment from Hannan yet. This means that things realistically could change in his recruitment. But as of right now, the Spartans are the team to beat for the talented quarterback.
Hannan is a three-star quarterback from Long Beach, Calif. He’s the No. 734 player in the country and the No. 49 quarterback according to On3. However, 247Sports is much higher on Leo, slotting him as the No. 22 quarterback in the class.
Hannan had a solid junior season, which was his first year as a starter. He led his team to an 8-6 record, completing 197-of-309 passes. Hannan threw for 2,429 yards, 14 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He isn’t only a threat in the air but he’s a capable runner, too. In the fall, he also ran the ball for 213 yards and six touchdowns.
The California native is also fresh off of a
visit to East Lansing last weekend, his second of the year. Two visits already in 2024 from a kid from California was already a very telling sign about where Michigan State stood in this recruit. These predictions just validate that even more. As I mentioned, no commitment date has been set publically yet. But the way this recruitment has gone, I could see him committing any day now.
