Michigan State football did not have a quiet weekend on the recruiting trail. After offering Caleb Green on Friday, the Spartans sent out their next offer to Blessed Trinity Catholic High School (Ga.) defensive back Noah Willis on Saturday. The blitz on Georgia defensive backs continues, as the Spartans also recently offered Shyne Parham and George Murray III.
The Word on Noah Willis
Willis is a 6-foot defensive back that has yet to receive a ranking on 247Sports or On3 currently. However, the defensive back holds multiple Big 12 offers and visits.
During his junior season, Willis started as part of a lockdown corner duo for Blessed Trinity, with 38 tackles, including two for loss, one sack, and one interception. This came during a season where the Titans finished 7-5 overall.
As a sophomore, Willis had 32 tackles, with five for loss, four pass breakups, and three forced fumbles.
He could project at a safety, nickel, or corner, based on his highlights.
Who is Michigan State Football’s Competition?
The Spartans jump into a Big 12 recruiting race for Willis. He holds four Power Four offers outside of MSU, including offers from BYU, Kansas State, and Cincinnati.
While the Wildcats jumped in only a few days before MSU, BYU and Cincinnati each have secured official visits with the Roswell native. He is set to visit Cincinnati June 5-7 and BYU June 18-21.
Spartans Have a Tie In
Michigan State football has a small advantage in the Willis recruiting sweepstakes, as Blessed Trinity Catholic HS might sound similar to people reading up on MSU. The Spartans recently secured the commitment from TJ Umenyiora during the 2026 cycle, as Umenyiora was the other half of the Titan’s lockdown pass defense in 2025.
Umenyiora has impressed as an early enrollee at Michigan State, with him, alongside fellow early enrollees KJ Deriso (another Georgia native) and Jeremiah Favorite all getting shoutouts from veteran DB Tre Bell III and cornerback coach Hank Poteat during the spring football media availability sessions.
As of May 17, the Spartans have yet to set an official visit with Noah Willis, although that could change. As it stands, the June 12 date only has three announced visitors for MSU, and Willis has yet to secure any OV that weekend.
