Elite 2024 linebacker Dylan Williams will be in East Lansing again, this time on an official Michigan State football visit.
Four-star linebacker Dylan Williams has announced he will be officially visiting Michigan State football beginning June 2nd.
This will be an extremely competitive recruitment
Williams is an elite prospect in the 2024 class. He is ranked No. 171 in the country and the No. 16 linebacker in his class. His offer sheet is extremely impressive. Alabama, USC, Michigan, Texas, Oregon, and Texas A&M are just a few of the major programs in the country that have offered him.
According to 247Sports, Williams has a few other visits scheduled as well this summer. He recently officially visited UCLA in May and will also visit Michigan on June 10 and Miami on June 23. Based on the scheduled visits and impressive offer sheet, this is going to be a tough recruitment to win.
Michigan State interest
Michigan State appears to be in a good spot in his recruitment, however. Williams visited Michigan State for the spring game and is already making another trip back to East Lansing. Two visits this close together is a great sign for Michigan State.
Being from California, it’s not a surprise to see him very interested in the major California schools. In 2022, he initially committed to USC but backed off that commitment later that year. UCLA appears to be a top school for Williams as well as some other west coast schools. It is extremely difficult to convince west coast kids to come play across the country at Michigan State, but Mel Tucker has done it before and can do it again. USC and UCLA joining the Big Ten could help Michigan State in his recruitment because he can expect to play at least one or two games in his home state during his career still.
June 2 is a busy weekend for the Michigan State staff. Williams is one of ten recruits scheduled to visit as well as one of eight four-star recruits. Michigan State commit Jaylen Thompson will also be in attendance this weekend. Hopefully, Thompson will be able to help convince Dylan to join him in Michigan State’s class.
A commitment likely won’t happen anytime soon. But Michigan State has a great chance to cement itself as a frontrunner in his recruitment on his first visit of June.
