Michigan State football commit Jadyn Walker didn’t sign in the early period and now he’s trending toward USC.
Jonathan Smith and his staff have been on fire since they took over the Michigan State football program. They have revamped the 2024 recruiting class and have added countless transfers from the transfer portal.
But the good news was bound to end at some point, and it appears the Spartans might be getting some bad news soon.
Three-star linebacker Jadyn Walker
Jadyn Walker is a three-star linebacker from Portage, Mich. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 1,102 player in the country and the No. 95 player at his position. Walker also is the No. 18 player in the state of Michigan as well.
Walker committed to Michigan State back on Sept. 9 and has stayed true to the commitment so far. But things now seem to be trending a different direction.
With final signing day approaching for the 2024 class, Walker has now received two crystal ball predictions to flip his commitment to USC. These predictions are from a national recruiting expert and a Midwest recruiting expert, so they likely are in the know.
However, if Jadyn does leave the program it wouldn’t be the end of the world for one big reason.
Four-star linebacker Brady Pretzlaff
Brady Pretzlaff is a four-star linebacker and is a more recent commitment to the Michigan State program. He flipped his commitment from Minnesota to Michigan State football on Dec. 20 and has become one of the highest ranked Spartan commits in this class.
According to On3, Pretzlaff is the No. 9 linebacker in the country. Now I’m not saying this is the reason Walker is flipping his commitment, but things like this do play a role in recruiting. Projected playing time and competition is one of many things recruits have to weigh, so maybe that’s what he is doing here.
But there’s also the chance he just feels better about USC and thinks they are a better fit. Regardless of his reason, I wish Walker nothing but the best and hope he has a successful career no matter where he ends up.
