One of the top Michigan State football receiver targets has announced a commitment date for the end of June.

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably begging for any positive Michigan State football recruiting news.

We’ve had to sit by and watch the school down the road piece together potentially its best recruiting class in program history while the Spartans have lost their top two commits over the past couple of months.

Well, Mel Tucker and Co. are approaching official visit season so that means commitments could soon be on the way to boost that 2024 recruiting class.

One of those official visits will be from three-star “athlete” Tra’Mar Harris from Winton Woods, Ohio.

On Tuesday, the athlete, who projects as a receiver, announced a commitment date of June 30.

This is important because Harris will be taking an official visit to Michigan State on June 23. So Michigan State will get the final visit before the three-star from Ohio is announcing a decision. That seems like it should be a good indicator of interest level.

Tucker needs to knock official visit season out of the park because there are a number of top prospects that he needs to seal the deal on before the season starts. Harris is one of them.

Harris is ranked the No. 765 overall recruit and No. 98 receiver in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He holds offers from Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Pitt, Purdue, and Virginia Tech. His offer sheet isn’t overly impressive, so this should be a winnable recruitment.

Michigan State is currently his only official visit scheduled and that should bode well for the Spartans.

If Michigan State can land Harris at the end of June and then Nick Marsh in the early part of July when he’s scheduled to commit, the future of the receiver room will look bright again.
