Darius Snow has been absent from action for Michigan State football for over a year, but that may soon change.
Darius Snow is a redshirt junior linebacker for Michigan State football and is no doubt one of our best players. He has made countless big plays during his time in East Lansing, but that all came to an abrupt end in last season’s opening game. Snow suffered a major right leg injury after a teammate accidentally collided with him during the game. His season ended immediately and no return date has ever been announced.
Darius Snow took to X (Twitter) today and had this to say:
Is Snow returning soon?
Could this be a hint at a potential return for Darius? The “368 days” is the amount of time since he suffered his injury, so that is no indication of a potential return. But the ending is what’s got me thinking a return could be soon: “Be afraid.”
Now that sounds like somebody who is ready to return to game action. There is no concrete evidence that a return is imminent, especially considering the severity of the injury he suffered. But this post leads me to believe that a return could be on the horizon.
There is denying the type of player Darius is. Last season he was being hyped up as one of our best and most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball. He not only is an elite player, but his leadership characteristics stand out even more. He was and still is to this day one of the vocal leaders of this team. If it weren’t for his injury, Snow likely would’ve been a captain some of not most of the weeks last season.
Obviously, I selfishly want Snow back on the field just because of how talented he is. But even more important than that, I want it for him. Snow regularly interacts with the fanbase online, and you can tell he just loves the game of football. You can see the passion in his eyes for the game, his teammates, and this community. He deserves to have another chance more than anyone else, and I can’t wait to see him trot back out there on the field hopefully soon.
